The Netherlands runs almost its entire public transport network — NS trains, trams, metro and buses across every city — on a single check-in/check-out system, and visitors today have two ways to use it: the traditional OV-chipkaart smartcard, or simply tapping a contactless bank card or phone through OVpay.
